Lebanon launched a national campaign to vaccinate against cholera, on Saturday in four governorates in the country. It began in the North Governorate, Akkar Bekaa, and Baalbek-Hermel, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health via Twitter.

The Ministry of Health, in cooperation with health associations, launched a vaccination campaign against the cholera epidemic in the Minieh region in the north, where it was concentrated in the districts where the spread of the epidemic was recorded. Health Minister Firas Al-Abyad stressed the need to adhere to the vaccination against the cholera epidemic to limit its spread.

Al-Abyad's words came during a tour of the town of Al-Haysah Al-Akkari, after a tour in the town of Benin, accompanied by the Red Cross teams, to see the progress of the vaccination process and the procedures for documenting the names of the vaccinated families in its neighborhoods.

The campaign is being carried out in phases, with the first lasting 3 weeks, during which 70 percent of the target groups are covered in the areas most vulnerable to the spread of the epidemic, according to the minister.

Four international and local associations participate in the implementation of this stage, namely, the Lebanese Red Cross, Amel International, Doctors Without Borders, and MEDAIR International.

On Thursday, the Lebanese Ministry of Health received 600,000 doses of cholera vaccine, provided by the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children's Fund "UNICEF".

We are currently starting the first day of the campaign, the cholera vaccination campaign, we go to the camps and Lebanese homes, we target all Palestinians, Lebanese and Syrians, and of all sects and nationalities.
We started from the municipality of Bhanine, and we will gradually expand between homes and camps. Currently, we have reached a Syrian camp, and we have begun to vaccinate children, adults, and children from one year and above. Of course, those who are less than a year old, we cannot vaccinate them. The campaign was very positive, and the whole world was getting the vaccine, and no one objected.

We thank the Ministry of Health, we thank everyone who carried out this campaign, which roams the streets and homes. Regarding cholera, according to my knowledge, I have experience in agriculture. It appears in the Bekaa because in the Bekaa they use contaminated water for irrigation. This is on the one hand,
On the other hand, my sister stayed in care for ten days due to cholera infection, due to her eating lettuce, so we thank everyone who carried out this campaign.
