An Anhinga (Florida waterfowl, our local buddy) grabbed a Bluegill and brought it to shore for lunch... SWALLOWED WHOLE!

Our lanai (Florida for "patio") faces a lovely pond in our neighborhood in Southwest Florida. I'm out there every day enjoying the wildlife, the sounds and sights. This guy is a "resident" in that we see him every day on the same rock, sunning himself. Anhingas swim the pond searching for something good to eat. Seems that Bluegills (a ubiquitous panfish here in the USA) are haute cuisine to waterfowl and Anhingas are no exception. My wife and I were in a deep discussion when I rudely interrupted her, jumped up, and grabbed my iPhone 12... Mr. Anhinga had gone "shopping" and grabbed a nice Lepomis macrochirus (Bluegill) and was shuttling back to "his rock" to enjoy! When the video starts he had already flipped it 180º vertical, in preparation for the Show! I love when he has to grab tiny slurps of water to lubricate his fare.
