A rare snow leopard was spotted and recorded by an employee at Jiangjunshan Ski Resort in northwest China.

Video filmed in Altay City in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, at around 8 pm on December 31, shows a snow leopard wandering around on the snow-covered ground.

The manager of the resort said, two snow leopards were noticed by tourists on the previous day and the employee recorded one at that night.

According to WWF, the snow leopard is one of WWF’s global flagship species and is the most numerous of China’s big cats.

The snow leopard is the first-class protective animal in China, and Xinjiang is one of their main habitats.

As the video shows, at about 8 pm on December 31, a snow leopard lay down in the snow and it sometimes moved around.

The staff kept track of the snow leopard under the guidance of experts.
