recent atmospheric rivers, winds and high surf inflict damage on Pacifica, California
The California coast was battered by recent storms and the town of Pacifica was hammered. The tide swept in tons of sand over the beach barriers and upended stone picnic benches as well as endangering shops and homes. High surf, wind, and torrential rain all played a part and a massive cleanup will be needed. The pier sustained damage and is now closed as well as the walkway and local businesses. More rain is in the forecast. WIdespread damage has occurred across coastal California and more is expected.
