A helpful pet Belgian Malinois dog carried a basket while his owner shopped at the market

Footage shows the four-year-old pooch named Cadillac biting a black container on his mouth while strolling around the stalls in Nueva Ecija province, the Philippines.

Cadillac would walk next to his owner Willard Azarcon while they pick among displayed fruits and vegetables.

He would then patiently wait while Willard talked to the vendor and paid for their food.

Willard said: ‘My Cadi is very helpful. We live near the market, so I take him with me sometimes.

‘It's also like a walking exercise. He's a big dog with a lot of energy to burn.'

The pair would then return home with Cadillac carrying their kitchen haul.

Willard added: ‘It's like a bonding experience for us while doing the chores. Dogs are families.'
