This is the shocking moment a performer collapsed on stage during a local carnival show.

Footage captured by Aaron Villaruel shows Boobay, the popular comedian, falling to the platform mid-performance during the Basudani Festival at Bansud Municipal Park in Oriental Mindoro, the Philippines.

Boobay, dressed in a vibrant, flamboyant pink and yellow outfit, suddenly lost his footing and dropped on the stage on January 19.

Production crew members rushed to carry the performer while the audience looked on, initially believing the collapse was part of the act.

Other staff members quickly joined in to assist Boobay as the stage director cut the lights.

Aaron said: 'Another comedian took over for a short while, then after five minutes, Boobay continued his performance. We are so glad he is okay, though we hope he takes some time to rest.'
