People screamed for help under the rubble after an earthquake brought down an apartment building in Turkey
Diyarbakir, a city located in Yenişehir, Turkey, witnessed a catastrophic event on February 6, 2023. A massive earthquake struck the city and brought down the eight-story Sözel Apartment Building, which was located in the office district of the city. The incident was captured on video by a local resident, @ademirr_21, who filmed the scene as people screamed for help under the rubble.
The earthquake, which had a magnitude of 6.3 on the Richter scale, struck the city at around 2:00 p.m. local time and caused widespread damage. The Sözel Apartment Building was one of the buildings that was severely affected by the quake, as it completely collapsed to the ground. Eyewitnesses reported that the building crumbled within seconds, leaving the residents trapped under the rubble.
The video captured shows the panicked and desperate cries of people as they desperately sought help from anyone nearby. The video quickly went viral on social media, with people from all over the world expressing their shock and condolences for those affected by the disaster.
