One of the most anticipated blocks of pre-Carnival in Sao Paulo, Academicos do Baixo Augusta bet on the rhythm of the Olodum group to drag its usual crowd through Rua da Consolacao, in the central region of the city, this Sunday afternoon.
Costumes of all kinds made up the colorful spectacle, but red was predominant. T-shirts, skirts, shorts and caps in deep red were everywhere. The theme of this year's festivity is "Atentos e Fortes", in allusion to the song "Divino Maravilhoso", immortalized in the voice of Gal Costa, who died last year and was honored in this edition of Baixo Augusta.
