Russia says it attacked Ukrainian positions using Tornado-G multiple launch rocket system
Russia has said that it has attacked Ukrainian positions using a Tornado-G multiple launch rocket system.
The footage shows the Russian war machine preparing to fire before it can be seen being loaded with ordnance.
The vehicle can then be seen manoeuvring into position, with it then seen opening fire as it launches a salvo of rockets into the air.
A number of explosions can then be seen, reportedly showing Ukrainian positions being hit by the Russian ordnance.
The Russian war machine can then be seen opening fire again, with the footage then cutting to a number of explosions again.
The Russian military vehicle can then be seen manoeuvring away in order to avoid return fire as the footage ends.
The images were obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Tuesday, March 14, along with a statement claiming: 'Artillerymen of the Western Military District, in the course of conducting with the special military operation, supporting the offensive actions of motorised rifle and tank units of the Russian Armed Forces, continue daily to inflict massive missile attacks on the positions, military infrastructure facilities and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
'During the special military operation, artillery reconnaissance and unmanned aerial vehicle crews uncovered command posts, communication centres and warehouses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
'The coordinates of these targets were transferred to the gunners, and the Tornado-G MLRS battery of the Western Military District advanced, took up a firing position and struck at the identified firing positions and objects of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
'Volleys of high-explosive projectiles of rocket systems are equipped with a special fuse, and therefore they accurately hit enemy positions. The shock wave and fragments that scatter hundreds of metres destroy the identified fortifications, command posts, communication centres and various warehouses.
'Due to the presence of an automated guidance and aiming system, topographic location and navigation, Tornado-G crews inflict fire damage in automatic mode.
'Having completed the firing task, the Tornado-G artillery crews changed their firing position.
'Artillery reconnaissance equipment and quadrocopters help the gunners in the accuracy of strike guidance and its adjustment, the data from which is transmitted directly to field headquarters and commanders.
'The enemy's fear of the Tornado-G is quite understandable. For the most modern domestic systems of volley fire, the enemy is especially hunting.
'After launches, the installation is folded into the stowed position for less than a minute. And at maximum speed, they leave the dangerous area. Crews never work in the same position twice, they never take vehicles to the same cover.'
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022 in what the Kremlin is still calling a 'special military operation'.
