When this man was on holiday in Thailand, his canoe crashed into a reef and his boat started to fill up with water and eventually sank. 

Oliver Lubel, 24, found himself in every traveller’s nightmare when his boat hit a rock and began to sink. 

Oliver desperately called for help from a passing boat but his attempts were unsuccessful and he soon realised the only solution was to swim back to the shore. 

The video was posted to TikTok where many online users were in disbelief by his calm reaction. 

Oliver responded, “I remained so calm because I realised that if I panicked it was only going to make the situation worse”

He later made update videos confirming his safety and about how he got back to shore.
