We had been dealing with some issues from someone we knew, and had the nice police officers over taking care of the issue. Our 4-year-old son, Zachary, was standing with us while we were on our front porch making small talk with the cop in the video, while the other was gathering up the paperwork for us. When our son first came out he hid behind my legs and didn’t really talk or say anything which was unusual for him, he’s never been a shy kid. He’s always very talkative and friendly. We joked when the cop was trying to say hi to him that, our son would be totally excited if it was a firetruck that was outside instead of a cop car. We continued with our small talk when all of a sudden we saw the rock fly mid air and hit him right in his cheek. Completely mortified at what happened we got onto him and apologized to the police officer. I took our son inside and explained to him that he can never do that to anyone and that it wasn’t nice of him at all to do that. My husband stayed outside and the cop just laughed and said he guessed our son really was more of a firetruck fan. He said he had small kids of his own so he’s very familiar with little kids giving into their intrusive thoughts. We apologized some more and had a good laugh after especially when realized our security camera caught the whole thing. He was very kind and understanding and I’m sure had a good laugh with the whole sheriffs office after.
