South Pasadena, United States - November 16, 2024 A dramatic confrontation unfolded on November 16, 2024, when a man, later identified as 28-year-old Norberto Sanchez, threw large rocks and bottles at officers after shattering car windows on Huntington Drive. Sanchez, who was located in the 1900 Block of Marengo Avenue, became belligerent as officers attempted to detain him. During the struggle, one of the thrown rocks struck the windshield of a patrol vehicle, just as an officer arrived on scene. After a brief standoff, officers deployed less lethal devices, and Sanchez surrendered without further incident. He was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and felony vandalism. No injuries were reported.
