Bangarra dancers at the Sydney Opera House ahead of World Premiere of Yuldea, Australia
Yuldea marks the inaugural work of Frances Rings in her newly appointed role as Artistic Director of Bangarra Dance Theatre. Yuldea is a deeply personal ceremonial affirmation of history and heritage, inspired by Rings’ family connection to the area. Yuldea awakens the earth and sky worlds to tell the story of the Aṉangu people of the Great Victorian Desert. In the video Bangarra Dance Theatre dancers Kassidy Waters and Daniel Mateo present a section from their world premiere production, Yuldea, set against the iconic backdrop of the Sydney Opera House sails.
