A powerful tornado struck the suburban area of Barrhaven in Ottawa, Canada, on July 13th, 2023, causing significant damage to homes and leaving a trail of destruction. A video captured by @TheShagtor showed the tornado trying to form near his house. David Sills, the executive director of the Northern Tornadoes Project, confirmed the tornado's occurrence, which hit approximately 25 kilometers south of downtown Ottawa. Reports indicated that around 125 homes in the affected area suffered various degrees of damage, ranging from roofs being torn off to broken windows and downed trees. Moreover, approximately 1,600 homes were left without power, with concerns of potential gas leaks due to the destruction.
