STORYLINE:

The second edition of the Roving Theater Festival is underway at some archeological sites and open outdoor spaces of Jordan, staging eight theatrical plays by actors from Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, and Tunis.

Hakeem Harb, director of the festival, expressed his expectations to showcase art and theatrical culture directly to the public while promoting tourism and attracting talented regional artists through the festival.

He also intends to expand the festival to reach more archeological sites in Jordan and tell the historical stories of these sites through theatrical plays, in an artistic way showing connection between the past and the present.

"I believe that bringing life to these sites through drama and through theatrical festivals is an element of attraction for tourism in an out-of-the-box and unconventional promotional ways. Through this art, we encourage tourism and shed light culturally, historically, and cognitively on the importance of these tourist sites, from what will attract the largest potential number of tourists because the method we have taken is a new, innovative, and non-repetitive method."

The festival is held in open outdoor spaces including squares, parks, and archaeological and tourist sites rather than traditional indoor theaters, aiming to deepen the communication with the audience, according to the festival organizers.
