France has launched a campaign to raise awareness of women's safety in public spaces.

The flyer includes a QR code that links to a website, where anyone can report incidents and contact police officers online at any time.
SOUNDBITE 1 (French): CAROLINE, Policewoman
"We distribute leaflets for the safety of women in the public space."
The campaign also gives recommendations to women in the event of an assault in a public space.
SOUNDBITE 2 (French): LEA, Passenger
"I think it's the first approach that is important: it means that there is awareness. This is a first step towards other processes that will have to be put in place later."
SOUNDBITE 3 (French): CLARA, Passenger
"In transport, when there are a lot of people, I do not feel very well, not safe. When there are women around me, I feel better. We are close to others, there are wandering hands or prying eyes that are embarrassing."
According to a recent report, 81 percent of women have already been victims of street harassment in public places in France.
