Myanmar's foreign trade has reached over 9.7 billion U.S. dollars in the first three months of the 2023-24 fiscal year, according to figures released by the Ministry of Commerce on Monday.
 
The figure was up, as compared to over 9.6 billion dollars registered in the same period a year ago, the ministry's data showed.
 
From April 1 to July 14 this year, the country earned over 4.4 billion dollars from exports, while its imports were valued at over 5.3 billion dollars, the ministry's figures showed.
 
During the period, manufactured goods topped the export list with the most value, earning over 2.6 billion dollars, followed by agricultural products with a value of 968.05 million dollars.
 
The country's maritime trade totaled over 6.6 billion dollars, while its border trade amounted to 3.08 billion dollars in over three months of the 2023-24 fiscal year, the ministry's figures showed.
 
The Southeast Asian country usually does most of its foreign trade through sea routes as it has a long coastline. Its trade partners include China, Thailand, Bangladesh and India.
 
The country exports agricultural and animal products, fisheries, minerals and forest products, manufactured goods and others, while it imports capital goods, intermediate goods and consumer goods.
