Drone footage reveals large amounts of toxic blue-green algae lining the surface of Lough Neagh, the UK's largest inland body of water.

Aerial footage captured on August 30 shows clumps of the algae surrounding moored boats at the Ballyronan Marina.

"Locals say it hasn't been this bad since the 1960s," said the filmer.

According to animal welfare charity Blue Cross: "Some types of blue-green algae contain toxins that can are highly poisonous and often fatal to pets. It can also cause illness in people if touched or swallowed."
