Earth records its hottest ever three-month spell

According to the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), Earth has just experienced its hottest three-month spell period on record.

The global average temperature for June, July and August in 2023 was 16.77 degrees Celsius (62.19F), a huge 0.66 degrees Celsius above average.

August has been estimated to have been 1.5 degrees Celsius above the pre-industrial era situated between 1850 and 1900, and 2023 is so far (with measurements taken from January to August) considered the second warmest after 2016.
