US, Los Angeles: Brentwood Wrong-Way Driver Taken Into Custody
Los Angeles, United States - January 22, 2026 01/22/2026 02:15 am GMT-0800 BRENTWOOD, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – California Highway Patrol officers from West Los Angeles and West Valley responded to a report of a wrong-way driver on the 405 Freeway near Howard Hughes. Officers received information about a gray BMW traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the freeway at a high rate of speed in the carpool lane. In response, officers established a traffic break southbound on the 405 starting from Skirball. They successfully stopped the suspect and took him into custody. Officers then transported him and his vehicle to a 76 gas station on the 800 block of Moraga Drive. The suspect was taken to an area hospital for a blood draw to determine if he was driving under the influence. The exact charges against him are currently unknown.
