High school students marched through downtown Buenos Aires to remember the 47th anniversary of the Night of the Pencils and, in that framework, called to defend democracy, as this year marks four decades since the recovery of constitutional institutionality in the country.

September 16 is the day on which a new anniversary of that act of State terrorism perpetrated during a joint operation of police and Army Battalion 601, which captured in La Plata ten high school students between 16 and 18 years old, will be celebrated.

At that place in the capital of Buenos Aires, the demonstrators vindicated the struggle of those militants who were disappeared during the last civil-military dictatorship and expressed their opposition to the denial of crimes against humanity.
