The famous Colombian painter Fernando Botero died on Friday, September 15, at his home in the principality of Monaco, due to pneumonia. But before being buried next to his wife, Sophia Vari, in Pietrasanta (Italy), his body will pass through Colombia to receive a final goodbye.

This was announced in an interview with Infobae by his son, the writer and journalist Juan Carlos Botero, who also indicated that the remains of maestro Botero will pass through Bogotá and his native Medellín, as soon as they manage to finish the paperwork. that requires its transfer.

"There is an unavoidable procedure and that is beyond our control, I estimate that it will be in the next few days, but we still do not have exact dates, nor a total defined agenda."

As a family, the Boteros say they feel overwhelmed because, even though the artist was 91 years old and had some health problems, typical of his age, he was the cornerstone of the family and was always attentive, not only to Sophia, but also to his three children: Fernando Jr., Lina and Juan Carlos.
