A man has gone viral after creating fashionable eyewear with a tasty twist.

Jack Spencer has brought a whole new meaning to the phrase "reduce, reuse, and recycle" with his bizarre fashion trend – leftover McMuffin sunglasses.

The 36-year-old, who loves getting creative, has also experimented with Digestive and Nice biscuits eyewear and while they’re not for sale, he claims people love them.

Now, he’s gone viral on TikTok with his series of food-related creations and has racked up over 4.9 million views and 550,000 likes on one clip.

But he says these one-off pieces aren’t all what they’re "cracked" up to be.

“The egg McMuffin meal glasses were very greasy and a little smelly,” Jack, a designer, from Cornwall, said.

“They are wearable but are so uncomfortable and impractical because of the waft.

“I looked like a greasy billboard, as I also had a hash brown swinging from the shades below my chin.

"I created these weird and wonderful spectacles as an elaborate way of getting people to see my other videos.

“People seem to love the novelty designs though, especially the Digestive biscuits.

"They are much more comfortable to wear than the Nice biscuit shades and the over-the-head connection was surprisingly effective.

"Even though people have requested these glasses to be developed further, I'd rather spend my time on some other whacky projects."

For the McMuffin sunglasses, he simply pushed brass wire through the bread and added bits of chain to suspend the hash brown around his chin – with an elastic head strap fixed into place so they stayed put.

In the viral clip, he shares how the Digestive biscuit shades are made.

He begins with laying out four of the sweet treats onto a baking sheet, before pouring resin over the top to harden them.

As they’re great at absorbing tea, they soak this up well too.Jack proceeds to mark out the lens shape, before using multiple sawing tools to shape them.

Finally, he glues the lens into the centre of the biscuit and slots the whole piece together, while demonstrating how fashionable they are.

Users have flocked to the comments to share their reactions, with Specsavers even putting in a request.

“Can you make some using chocolate digestives?” the brand commented.

Someone else added: “Perfect accompaniment to my custard cream waistcoat.”

“Digesticals,” Kev said. [sic]

Yorkshire Tea added: “Are they still suitable to dunk? Have you just invented dunkable sunglasses?”

“Elton John in another universe,” another viewer said.

Emily added: “That’s a lot to digest.”

Jack, who has always loved sunglasses, recalls working for months in a chip shop as a teenager in a bid to afford his favourite pair; Oakley Splice Jackets.

As he's always been creative, he had the idea of making his own sunglasses from denim and now, he's made thousands of the designs over the past twelve years.

It's been such a success, that he's opened up his own company, Mosevic, which is popular across the globe.

He added: “I’ve made thousands of sunglasses to date now and I have lots of ideas for the future.

“I’m proud of all I have achieved, as it hasn’t been quick or easy.

“I only do marketing through social media, but to keep things interesting, and to entertain people, I decided to try out the food glasses.

“They may not be practical, but they sure are a treat for the eyes.”
