The Chinese Embassy in the United States held a reception Wednesday evening to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng attended the reception and gave a speech.
Craig Allen, president of the U.S.-China Business Council, and Stephen Orlins, president of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, also addressed the reception.
The reception featuring a classical music performance brought by students of the famed Julliard School in New York also attracted many dignitaries and guests from various walks of the United States and Chinese communities and institutions in the country.
The Chinese National Day is celebrated on Oct. 1 and is one of the most important holidays in China.
