STORYLINE:

Kenyan students at the Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi on Thursday enjoyed Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations alongside their Chinese counterparts.

"I have been learning Chinese for about 6 months now, and we have been taught different things from paper cutting, calligraphy, dance, 'Wushu.' I am also doing Bianlian, which is face-changing. I enjoy it because when we do it here at the institute we are able to interact with each other, have fun, we are learning at the same time, as we do the cultural activities."

"I am really enjoying this day because I am one of the Chinese students who learn Chinese culture, and this day is really interesting because you come together with your family members, you unite. The reason why I am studying Chinese is because of their culture, they have a very rich culture and history so I am really interested."

The Mid-Autumn Festival, traditionally celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, is a time for family reunions in China and some other Asian nations.
