Jorge Almiron and Nicolas Figal post-match press conference in Buenos Aires, Argentina
This footage was filmed and produced 28 September 2023.
This Thursday, La Bombonera dressed up again for the occasion, but there were no answers on the court. Boca and Palmeiras did not take advantage and tied 0-0 in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores semifinals. The series was completely open and will be defined next Thursday, October 5 at the Allianz Parque in San Pablo.
Boca controlled the game during the 90 minutes, generated more than Palmeiras who at no time posed any danger to Chiquito Romero and had several chances to take the lead. In both the first and second half, those led by Jorge Almiron were able to break Weverton's goal, but they were not precise.
The finalist of the Copa Libertadores will be defined next Thursday, October 5 at 9:30 p.m. at the Allianz Parque in San Pablo. On the other hand, Jorge Almiron will have all his players at his disposal after the superclasico against River this Sunday at La Bombonera starting at 2 p.m.
This footage illustrates press conference of Jorge Almiron and Nicolas Figal after the match.
SOUNDBITE (SPANISH): Jorge Almiron, Boca coach:
"We stood up well, we recovered the ball quickly, in the first half it was like that. The second half was similar, we had clear chances and they (Palmeiras) didn't generate as much. On balance we were superior, we didn't win by a minimal difference but we had chances "Clearly, it was a great game, I am satisfied with what the players did."
SOUNDBITE (SPANISH): Nicolas Figal, Boca player:
"On Sunday we have a tough game that we will try to win, so we will try to make people happy. We know that we have a difficult game with River but we will try to win."
