National Highways announce £15.4m in new weather stations in UK

National Highways has announced it is investing £15.4million in innovative new weather stations to provide them with live data of road conditions.

Ahead of the winter season, the Government body has over 500 gritters ready to tackle and prevent adverse weather conditions, with approximately 280,000 tonnes of salt at 128 depots.

Working with manufacturer Vaisala, National Highways will be upgrading 125 weather stations by 2025.
