Pregnant woman goes into labor at restaurant but tells waiter she will be back to finish her meal
A hungry pregnant woman went into labor at a barbecue restaurant - but told the waiter she would return to finish her meal.
Apisara Sawasdee, 30, was about to tuck into dinner at the eatery in Bangkok, Thailand, when her waters broke, causing panic among the staff on October 16.
As workers called an ambulance to rush her to the hospital, hungry Apisara - keen not to let her food go to waste - calmly requested that her meal be left on the table 'in case it was a false alarm'.
However, the worried manager insisted she depart immediately, promising she would 'get free meals for nine months' once she has delivered the baby.
Apisara was wheeled off to the hospital, where she gave birth to a beautiful, rosy-cheeked infant whom she named 'Punnapat'.
The new mum said: 'I experienced labour pains and bleeding at the restaurant at around 5 pm. I was in labour for 10 hours. After I had given birth, I was so hungry and ate ginger chicken and porridge.
'I was serious about the restaurant keeping my meal. I will be going back with my baby to finish the same dish. They have been kind and said they will cook a new one for me.'
She joked that she would revisit the barbecue restaurant to make sure the manager makes good on his promise of free meals.
