Drone footage captured a few days before the evacuation of Grindavik in Iceland, shows the world-famous Blue Lagoon and nearby Svartsengi Power Station.

Defensive walls are planned around both, to protect them from possible lava flows amid the threat of volcanic activity.

The Blue Lagoon, a popular tourist destination, is about 4km (2.5 miles) north of Grindavík, the town that was evacuated following thousands of earthquakes that scientists say could indicate impending volcanic activity in the area.

The power plant, in the same area, is similarly threatened.

The power plant was filmed by drone on 10 November while the Blue Lagoon was filmed on 5 November.
