Hundreds of orphaned children in Iraq participated in a marathon organized by the independent charitable organization "Al-Ghad Al-Mushriq (Bright Tomorrow) Foundation" on Friday.
The non-governmental foundation aims to empower orphans and to support them to integrate into society.
Mustafa Fadel, head of the "Al-Ghad Al-Mushriq" Foundation, told Xinhua, "The goal of the marathon is to care for orphans and provide them with the appropriate social and health environment by empowering them physically and morally and embracing them in society in an unconventional way."
