On Wednesday afternoon, Chinese President Xi Jinping held a welcoming ceremony for Uruguayan President Luis Alberto Lacalle Pou, who is on a state visit to China from November 20 to 24.
This is Lacalle's first visit to China.
Uruguay is an important country in South America. Over the past 35 years, since the establishment of bilateral ties, especially since the two sides established a strategic partnership in 2016, China-Uruguay relations have made good progress and delivered tangible benefits to the two peoples.
After the welcoming ceremony, the two heads of state proceeded to have bilateral talks."
