An urban explorer has discovered a family home frozen in time, with self-portraits, photos, degree certificates, and children’s toys left behind.

Dave, known online as Freaktography, discovered that the house, located in Ontario, Canada, had sat abandoned for 22 years.

Exploring the property, he found magazines, bookshelves, and hundreds of records from a band called Brigand, a Canadian East Coast Folk group.

Sharing it on YouTube he quickly gained over 8,800 views of the property, with viewers left in awe at the house.

“The house looked as though its occupants vanished one fateful day, leaving behind a treasure trove of memories,” Dave, from Ontario, Canada, told NeedToKnow.co.uk.

“As we stepped inside, we witnessed the passage of time etched into every corner of this once-vibrant home.

“The walls were crumbling, the floors were soft and sinking, and the walls themselves were buckling under the weight of history.

“It was a haunting reminder of lives interrupted and stories untold.

“The most striking aspect of this urban exploration was that everything has been left in its place.

“From family photos and negatives neatly stored in closets to bookshelves filled with a diverse collection of literature, including books about travel, religion, and gardening.

“Moldy National Geographic magazines are frozen in time on a dusty bookshelf in the main hallway.”

Walking through one room, he came across a diploma and awards of one of the former residents and a teacher.

Venturing upstairs, he discovered a child's bedroom, with toys and clothes, as well as a set of Play-Doh from 1981.

One of the rooms was full of hundreds of vinyl records, all from one band named Brigand.

Dave later discovered that the homeowner’s son played the synthesizer for the band, with that very instrument sitting in a case in one of the bedrooms.

Sharing his find on YouTube, people rushed to comment on the dilapidated home.

Carol commented: “Great house. The members of Brigand are/were Bob Downer (2), John Black (16), Kevin Swayze, Michael MacLeod, Stephen Maskell. I think they sound pretty good, glad you took the record home with you.”

“This place feels a lot older than 20 years. It feels like an elderly couple, who never updated . A lot of that stuff is from the 70’s - and not the cool 70s. Such an amazing find,” Lisa said. [sic]

“Nice explore Dave! Wished I could have seen more if the records, but I don’t blame you. Too dirty to mess with. Never heard of Brigand, but they sounded good. Keep the great videos coming.!” added Jamie. [sic]

Susan wrote: “Freaking awesome!!!!! Loved it.”

“The record was cool, I would have taken one too out of curiosity… I wonder what happened to the owner. Discogs shows that the piano/synth player in the band was named Michael MacLeod,” commented Luke.
