Tropical Cyclone Jasper brought wind gusts and rain to Queensland's northern coast as it approached as a category 2 storm on Wednesday, December 13. As it brought more than half a meter of rain in 24 hours, flood warning were in place on Thursday morning for parts of far north Queensland.
The storm, causing downed trees and power outages for around 15,000 homes, was downgraded to a tropical low pressure system late on Wednesday night.
