Makayla and her boyfriend seized a rare opportunity for a date night, their first since the birth of their nine-month-old baby. However, their evening took an unexpected turn when their Ring doorbell alerted them to a distressing situation captured on camera.

As they enjoyed their night out, their Ring doorbell notification revealed a scene that turned their night upside down—Makayla's sister, Shelby, appeared on the doorstep holding the crying baby, whose back showed concerning redness. Through the Ring camera, Shelby urgently relayed the alarming news: the baby had choked and spat up blood.

Luckily. Shelby's quick thinking and knowledge of CPR proved invaluable as she adeptly responded to the emergency, providing critical aid to the distressed baby. Makayla stressed the importance of CPR certification for everyone involved in caring for children, emphasizing the tremendous relief she felt knowing her baby was in capable hands during the crisis.

Following the harrowing incident, the baby was rushed to the ER, where an X-ray revealed no foreign objects that could have caused the choking. The likely culprits remained a mystery—spit or debris from the floor. However, the relief and gratitude for the baby's well-being prevailed, with Makayla expressing profound thanks for Shelby's swift action and competence in handling the situation.

We went out on our first date since our baby was born and was notified by our ring doorbell of my sister on the front porch with our baby, shes crying and our baby’s back is red. She talks to us through the camera telling us that our baby choked and spit up blood and she called 911. Thankfully my sister is cpr certified and knew exactly what to do to save our baby. It is very important for all parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, etc. to get cpr certified. Our baby is perfectly okay, she was taken to the ER where an xray showed no objects that would cause her to choke so most likely was her own spit, dog hair off the floor, who knows. Seeing our baby okay on the ring camera helped so much and we are so thankful that she was in the hands of someone that knew what to do in this situation!
