Graphic Footage: Female Hunt Saboteurs Dragged Through Mud by Masked Aggressors in Oakham, UK
This footage was filmed and produced 6 January 2024.
[WARNING: Violent content / video contains profanity]
In a shocking incident captured on video, three female animal-rights protesters from Northants Hunt Saboteurs were violently dragged through a muddy field by a group of masked individuals they claim were affiliated with the Cottesmore Hunt. The confrontation unfolded in a field off Ashwell Road in Oakham, Rutland, around 2:30 pm on Saturday (6/1).
As the women filmed the hunt's activities, they were surrounded by four men wearing identical orange and black puffer jackets. One of the men forcefully shoved a protester to the ground, and another dragged a young woman through the mud by her arm. The victims were subjected to physical and verbal abuse, with the attackers repeatedly ordering them to "f**k off the land."
Despite the presence of a huntsman on horseback, who rode past without intervening, the protesters were aggressively pushed and threatened. The saboteurs reported the incident to Leicestershire police, who are currently investigating the alleged assault.
A spokesperson for Northants Hunt Saboteurs condemned the violence, highlighting the evidence of the masked men's assault and misogynistic language. The incident emphasizes the need for law enforcement action to address the disturbing attack on these activists dedicated to monitoring and ensuring the welfare of foxes during hunts.
