As most would have forgotten the hot dry summers in British Columbia with the recent rains and heavy snow, it must be remembered that the conditions are much dryer still than in a normal winter. The beauty of the freshly fallen snow may be enjoyed now however with the lower rain and snow levels expected this winter in Western Canada, the risks to the spring and summer 2024 wildfire season are only becoming greater.

Global warming and climate change are creating a pattern of danger and destruction around the globe as weather systems are stronger than at other points in history and more land is lost due to massive wildfires each summer, people need to remember the risks that come with climate change globally.
