To enhance rural development, China will focus on improving rural infrastructure, the living environment and public services based on local conditions, and the needs of the rural population, said Han Wenxiu, head of the Office of the Central Rural Work Leading Group, at a press conference on Sunday.

Han also urged rural authorities to learn about the experience of the "Thousand Villages Demonstration and Ten Thousand Villages Renovation" project, which was launched by Zhejiang Province in June 2003.

For 20 years, the project has created thousands of beautiful villages, and fundamentally changed the face of the province's countryside.
