STORYLINE:

The Chinese New Year Festival in Budapest's Chinatown celebrated over the weekend was a melting pot of cultural admiration and discovery.

A delegation from southwest China's Chengdu City brought eight distinctive performances to Hungary, captivating audiences with a rich array of traditional Chinese arts.

Visitors expressed their joy at discovering the festival, highlighting the importance of introducing their children to global cultures.

SOUNDBITE 1 (Hungarian): Family form Kecskemet
"We lived in China for four years, where my son's beautiful folk costume is from. He was born in Beijing, so we have a deep connection to the tradition. He was 'made in China.'
It's our first time in this event, and we returned from China recently, so we're eager to keep the culture we experienced in China a part of our lives here. It took us roughly one hour to drive here.
We are very happy to have a chance to experience Chinese culture here in Budapest too. Happy Chinese New Year."

SOUNDBITE 2 (English/Hungarian/Chinese): GABOR and ZSUZSI, Event participants from Budapest
"We like all the Chinese food, the Chinese art as well, so this is the kind of place that we visited anyway. And it's good there is this festival that we can enjoy a bit more. I liked that inflatable clown doll. Happy Chinese New Year."

SOUNDBITE 3 (Chinese): ANTAL SZABO, Event participant
"I'm very happy. I got something nice and beautiful. This is a rooster."
