"Voting for Indonesia's general elections officially began Wednesday morning, according to the country's General Elections Commission (KPU). Presidential election and legislative election take place simultaneously in the general elections. The three combinations running for the 2024 election are: Defense Minister Prabowo and Mayor of Surakarta Gibran, the eldest son of incumbent Indonesian President Joko Widodo; former Governor of Central Java Ganjar and former Coordinating Minister of Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mohammad Mahfud, and former Governor of Jakarta Anies and Chairman of the National Awakening Party Muhaimin."
