Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit on Tuesday reaffirmed rejection of the invasion of Israel in Rafah City in Gaza.

"The repercussions of the intentional destruction, caused by the Israeli occupation in Gaza Strip and which has destroyed all basics of life, may remain for the upcoming decades. From here, I reiterate our clear stance of the rejection of the Israeli threats of invading (Palestinian) Rafah city. I also plead with all parties to urgently take an action to stop this barbaric operation."
He also said that the sustainability and prosperity of development in the Arab region are a goal among the priorities of the Arab League and a goal it seeks to achieve.
He added, during his speech on Arab Sustainability Day, that the Arab League has taken significant steps to achieve this goal that is relevant to the lives of Arab citizens through plans, initiatives and strategies at all levels related to sustainable development goals, explaining that the Arab region, despite what has been achieved, has been exposed to violent and successive crises that have led to exhaustion of Arab action.
On her part, Nevine El-Qabbaj, Egyptian minister of social solidarity, referred to the suffering caused by Israel to the Palestinians.

"We are meeting today in the light of regional, Arab, and international challenges which cast shadow over the Arab region on the political, economic, social, environmental, and cultural levels, with the suffering of the Palestinian people and what they receive from torture and systematic genocide at the top of it."
The Arab Sustainability Day was first marked in 2023, aiming to spread the concepts of sustainability and promote them in the Arab world and review the initiatives aiming at achieving sustainable development agenda 2030.
