On February 23, 2024, a group of passionate student activists made their voices heard as they disrupted a fundraising dinner hosted by Labour frontbencher Anneliese Dodds at NEF Istanbul in Oxford. The coalition of demonstrators, which included Just Stop Oil and Oxford Climate Justice Campaign, demanded Dodds' commitment to cancelling all Tory oil and gas licences granted after 2021.

Among the protesters was student Ollie Sworder, who called on Dodds to either take action against Tory oil or leave the Labour Party. The group also delivered a list of demands to Dodds, emphasizing the urgency of the climate crisis and the need for immediate action to address it.

Scientist Rosy Wilson joined the chorus of voices, highlighting the alarming consequences of continued exploration for new oil and gas. The activists urged Dodds to act within six months or step down from the party, emphasizing the importance of representing the people of Oxford and beyond in the fight against climate change.
