Sydney Gay And Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade Press Conference, Sydney, Australia
The 46th annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade will take place this Saturday night. This press conference provided an opportunity to get a preview of some of the incredible community floats at this year's Parade. Held at Smoke Bar, Barangaroo House, Level 2/35 Barangaroo Ave.
Speaking at the event:
• Sydney Mardi Gras CEO Gil Beckwith
• Mel Schwerdt and Brandon Bear, Co-Chairs of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras (SGLMG) Board
• NSW Minister for the Arts, the Hon. John Graham
• Lord Mayor Clover Moore
• As well as 20+ incredibly colourful parade marchers in costume!
The alleged murder of LGBT community members Luke Davies and Jesse Baird by LGBT police officer Beau Lamarre and the issue of whether the police should be allowed to march in the parade was the subject of questions by the media.
