The Ebro River has overflowed its banks and flooded the city of Zaragoza, with just over 1,600 m³/s of flow and a height of 4.45 meters. The flood, which has already affected various provinces in Spain, seems to be of a high-frequency nature, occurring every few years.

The flood has already passed through other Aragonese towns without causing damage to urban centers, and has now reached Zaragoza. While the river has flooded areas near the Ebro, such as the Helios Sports Center and the Aura restaurant, authorities have activated precautionary measures to prevent personal injury and minimize damage.

The Zaragoza City Council has implemented the Municipal Civil Protection Plan in the 'yellow alert' phase to address the flooding. Municipal services are working to minimize any potential issues caused by the flood.

After passing through Zaragoza, the flood is expected to move towards downstream municipalities and eventually reach the Mequinenza reservoir. The arrival of new frontal systems is expected until Saturday, with weak to moderate rainfall in mountain areas, including those in the Iberian System.

While the tributaries of the left bank of the Ebro may experience increases in flow due to the forecasted rainfall, they are expected to be lower than the current flood levels. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of residents in the affected areas.
