Benches with a large dragon mounted on them in Jinhua, China
This footage was filmed and produced 3 February 2024.
In a video recorded on February 3, 2024, in Jinhua, Zhejiang, the Huangs are seen carrying benches with a large dragon mounted on them.
Known as the "Bench Dragon," this cultural relic was brought down from the attic by the family members following the family hierarchy, allowing its dusty form to be unveiled.
People repaint it, restoring its former grandeur, and as it is carried by the crowd, the bench dragon comes to life once again, embodying the vibrant traditions of the past.
Bench Dragon, which originated from the Han Dynasty of China, was a traditional ritual for praying for rain to the Dragon King in ancient times and now local people perform dragon dance to wish a happy new year.
