A game changer for game developers - AI is being used by more and more video game companies in China to streamline operations and cut down production costs.
This company in Shanghai has been using AI-powered tools to assist with game design since 2022 and says it's greatly shortened their integration and production processes.

He Mingzhe, product manager, game company:
"Based on the descriptions provided by us, AI will automatically generate characters for us. It will take us two days to come up with two or three proposals the traditional way. But with this tool, it’s done in minutes."

AI has also freed engineers from the tiresome and repetitive task of game testing and debugging.

Shorter production and testing times ultimately mean lower costs.
Analysts say for designing gaming graphics alone, AI tools can bring down costs by more than 20 percent.
Industry data shows that the sales revenue of China’s gaming market topped 42 billion U.S. dollars last year, up 14 percent from 2022.
