Sky watchers from Devon took a rare opportunity to find a suitable location on Dartmoor national park to catch the northern lights overnight following a red alert. The alert meant that It was likely that aurora will be visible by eye and camera from anywhere in the UK.

Sam from UK Weather Chase said: “We was watching closely of a CME arriving and we started to plan getting out in hope we would catch a glimpse. We couldn’t believe how strong it was and never predicted it to be that good!”

Dan also from UK Weather Chase said: “Events like this especially for Devon doesn’t come around much so you got to take every opportunity and commit! After tonight, it was amazing and I’m super stoked we decided to head out on the off chance!”
