It encompasses Shanghai Municipality, the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui.

SOUNDBITE 1 (Chinese): ZHANG MIZHI, Director of Statistical Evaluation Laboratory, Shanghai Institute for Science of Science
"The three provinces and one municipality in the Yangtze River Delta region are striving to construct a collaborative innovation framework with a community of innovation as its core. Within this framework, Shanghai is continuously playing a leading role, while the three provinces are also showcasing their own strengths and positive collaboration in innovation. Especially in the breakthrough of frontier technologies, the growth of our scientific and technological investment, and the enhancement of innovation, the three provinces and one municipality have already generated significant effects, driving the entire Yangtze River Delta to become a crucial driving force for China's scientific and economic development."

Several years ago, nine districts and cities in the region created the "G60 science and technology innovation corridor." This collaboration aims to provide an integrated development platform driven by scientific, technological and institutional innovation.

"The G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor connects nine cities in the Yangtze River Delta. We promote the free flow of factors of science and innovation among the nine cities. This allows all of the nine cities to give full play to their strengths in raw materials, research and development, manufacturing, and application scenarios to form a chain and create a world-class, advanced industrial cluster."
