STORYLINE:

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inspected a factory of the Chinese phone maker Vivo on Saturday, as part of his tour to a number of industrial facilities in the 10th of Ramadan city.

The prime minister said his tour comes within the framework of the state's direction towards expansion in attracting major international manufacturing companies in Egypt, with a high local added value, as well as the government's interest in seeking to enhance communication with foreign investors and manufacturers from international companies.

The managing director of Vivo said the local factory achieves a local added value of 42 percent and is working to increase this percentage and also increase the local components.

According to him, Vivo established its factory in Egypt in 2022, with a production capacity of up to 500,000 units per month, providing about 1,200 direct and indirect jobs.
