Buy video

Blue Whales make their way to the coast of Newport Beach every summer feeding on tiny krill (the size of your pinky nail). This year in NEwport Beach we've had an unprecedented amount of Blue Whales flock to the area within 1-2 miles from the coastline. Blue whales can be nearly 100ft in the Northern Hemisphere, and weigh over 300,000lbs when they're fully grown. This Blue Whale is a baby, and when born he was already 23ft long and weighing 5,000-6,000lbs. Often the baby blue whales can become extra curious and friendly with boats. Here in the video you see the whale make an extremely close pass for excited passengers.
