Pomona PD responded to the Deluxe Motel at 915 W. Holt Avenue for a man armed with a gun. Once Officers arrived on scene, one suspect fled eastbound on Holt Avenue and then southbound on Hamilton Boulevard. As the suspect was running, he kept reaching for his front waistband as officers were in foot pursuit. The suspect ran southbound on Hamilton Boulevard positioned himself around a car and turned around and shot one round at Pomona officers and that’s when an officer involved shooting occurred. Unknown at this time how many officers fired back. No officers were hit by gunfire. The suspect was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital, but was pronounced dead at the hospital. This is the third Pomona officer-involved shooting within the past three to four weeks.

An officer-involved shooting has occurred in the area of Hamilton Boulevard and Center Street. No officers were injured. The suspect was hit and his condition is unknown at this time. A firearm was recovered at the scene. LASD and the DA’s Office are responding to handle the investigation.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a Pomona Police Department Officer-Involved Shooting of a male adult in the city of Pomona.On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, Pomona Police Department officers responded to the 900 block of Holt Avenue in the city of Pomona regarding a man with a gun call.When officers arrived on scene, they found the suspect matching the description. As the officers attempted to detain the suspect, the male adult suspect fled from them on foot. Additional units responded and officers followed the suspect in their vehicles to the 400 block of Hamilton Boulevard. The suspect produced a firearm and an Officer-Involved Shooting occurred.
